The 700 Club
It's a journey
every child deserves - to navigate through life's adventures
in the arms of a loving parent. But there are millions of
children who will never know a father's love, who will never
feel a mother's touch -- children like those I met in this
orphanage outside Beijing.
All the CBN staff
members were moved with compassion over the great need these
children had just to be held. There are 350 children here
in a space designed for 150. Some have been brought here
because of special needs; some have been abandoned due to
severe birthmarks. The staff does what it can to take care
of every child, but the job is not easy. After seeing such
great need, one may ask, "What could possibly be done?"
That answer comes
in the form of CBN WorldReach in China. I learned that CBN
is opening a foster home and taking these children out of
the orphanage, a few at a time, and placing them in a home
environment.
Then, CBN is working
with the American China
Adoption Association to place them into the arms of
loving parents in America.
At the Lang Fang
Foster Home, run by an American couple and their daughters
who have a love for the Chinese people, the very children
we saw lying in the orphanage were now in a home environment
waiting to be adopted by American families. All because
people care enough to give to CBN.
It's not to sacrifice or give up
food or things, its to help widows and children, and that's
what we are doing here. We've been given much. But now we've
got an opportunity and an obligation to sow back into these
kids the love of Christ. That's what we are here for.
