January, 2008

Hello everyone,

Would someone please explain where 2007 has gone?  It’s been a year filled with changes and new beginnings for the Friedrich family.  We had three graduations this year.

First, Drew graduated from Bryan College in Dayton, TN with a degree in Communications.  After spending the summer as a counselor at Camp All America, he took a position as a substitute teacher in the Atlanta school system.  Within two months a great opportunity opened up at Bryan for him to become their Sports Information Director.  He is loving it and hopes one day to be an Athletic Director.

Tory graduated from Liberty University, also with a degree in Communications.  She joined the staff of CBN News in the fall and I love being able to get together for lunch when we can.  She’s living at home at the moment and has a new Chihuahua puppy named Audrey.  Adorable!

J. P.  is living at home and working two jobs.  He has a very cool bright blue Acura RSX that he really loves to work on.  He’s planning to study in an automotive program here but also loves music, photography and cooking.  He never sits still.

Tyler graduated from high school in June and is a freshman at Liberty University majoring in Sports Management.  He’s learning to stretch a dollar and do his own laundry.  He called recently lamenting that he had a paper due the next day and hadn’t started it yet.  Guess what the subject was?  Procrastination!  What can I say?

Alysa is a senior and only needed three credits to graduate, so she is taking two credits at a home school program and we are doing a Bible class at home.  She has been working for a landscaper and has learned to lay a brick patio, trim hedges, lay mulch and mow.  She continues to take art classes and loves photography.  Allie is VERY ready for high school to be over.

Zoya has gotten her first job and is working at Chick-Fil-A.  Having her own money is very liberating.  She is an excellent student.  We’re trying to figure out when she actually studies since text messaging on her cell phone seems to be a full-time job.  She is a sophomore.

Sophia is in eighth grade, and to her father’s delight, is a great little athlete.  She’s the goalie on her travel soccer team and would rather eat dirt than let the ball get past her.  Five feet tall, she has decided to join the girls basketball team at school.  Should be interesting!

Terry is still co-hosting The 700 Club and Living the Life.  She and a friend started a special ministry within Operation Blessing called “Orphan’s Promise.”  It is an organization created to meet the needs of orphans and vulnerable children worldwide.  It’s growing faster than we could have imagined.  We’d love to have you find out more.  Visit www.orphanspromise.org.

Andy is incredibly busy selling for Discover Media which produces beautiful magazines featuring the cities that make up the Tidewater area.  If you’d like to know what’s going on here, let us know and we’ll send you one.  He’s also involved in arena racing.  It’s all done indoors with smaller cars and a little slower pace than NASCAR.

As busy as life is, we value our family and friends and wish we could see you more.  We thank the Lord for each of you and wish you a truly joyous Christmas filled with moments of awe as you realize how incredibly God loves us.  May 2008 be filled with more of His blessings that you could ask for or imagine.  We love you!
